What malfunctions can be caused by improper adjustment of the chain saw spark plug gap?

1. The gap adjustment is too large (>0.8mm) causing failure
It is difficult to start a cold engine. The starter rope can be pulled repeatedly to ignite, or it may even not start at all.
The fire breaks out or stalls for no reason during the cutting operation, the acceleration is weak, and the high-speed power becomes dull.
If the high-voltage package is overloaded for a long time, it is easy to leak electricity, burn out, and shorten the life of the ignition system.
Insufficient fuel combustion leads to increased carbon deposits in the exhaust pipe, black smoke, and significant increase in fuel consumption.
Spark plug electrodes are rapidly ablated and worn out, requiring frequent replacement of spark plugs.

2. The gap adjustment is too small (<0.6mm) causing failure
The ignition spark is weak, the mixture does not ignite, the idle speed vibrates, and it is easy to stall on its own.
If the electrode temperature is low, gasoline and oil stains will easily accumulate, and the spark plug will quickly accumulate carbon and flood the cylinder.
It cannot start if it is slightly oily, and the starting performance is extremely poor in low temperature environments.
Incomplete combustion, carbon deposits in the muffler are clogged, and the exhaust is not smooth, making it easy for the engine to become exhausted during work.
Detonation is prone to occur at low speeds, aggravating internal wear of the piston and cylinder.

3. Common faults
The power of the whole machine decreases, the wood is not sawed efficiently, and the cutting efficiency becomes low.
The mixture burns abnormally, the machine generates more heat, and the high temperature makes it easier to stall midway.
Frequent carbon deposits occur in the oil circuit and exhaust, increasing the frequency of cleaning and maintenance of the carburetor and muffler.
